Firefighters / Bomb squad

Firefighters and the bomb squad come under the same sort of category as their role in the investigation is very similar. The role of firefighters is to deal with any fire that is present at the scene, they would be called to a scene where the fire is big enough that only the firefighters could control it. One of the most important responsibilities of a firefighter is speed, by this I mean that they have to arrive at the scene a quick as they possibly can. The main reason for this is that a fire can take hold of a building at a very fast rate so it is very important for the firemen to put out the fire before it engulfs the building or spreads to other parts/buildings in the area. They have to quickly put out the fire if the is still ongoing however whilst doing this they have see if there is or could be trapped in the building. According to (cambsfire.gov.uk) One of the top priorities is public safety so they must act quickly but carefully if they are to try and save anyone whom could be trapped. If  they have arrived at a scene and the building/s have already burnt then it is very important for them to help secure the scene and make sure that it is safe for the crime scene investigators to enter, this is quite important because if the structure is still present then the foundations may be very weak and dangerous so they must check to see that it is safe to enter. The role of the bomb squad is to deal with any bombs that may be present at the scene, the bomb squad would be notified immediately if there was a suspected bomb and just like the firefighters  one of the most important responsibilities of the bomb squad is speed, by this I mean that they have to arrive at the scene a quick as they possibly can. The main reason for this is that a bomb could go off at any time and depending on the nature of the bomb the blast radius could be large so its in the best interest for everybody that speed is one of their traits. It is also their responsibility to find and diffuse/dispose the bomb, in many cases the location of the bomb will be known, however if it is a bomb threat then they may have to pinpoint where the location of the bomb may be. These have been grouped together because if the scene is a result of a bomb going off the firefighters would work very closely to the bomb squad in order to keep the scene safe from both the building from collapsing and to see if the bomb contained any lethal substance. The involvement of firefighters and the bomb squad are very beneficial to a fire scene because they work quickly and efficient to help save the lives of everyone in that area. The firefighters are important because they try and put out any fires that are already in progress in order to try and prevent the spread of a potentially really dangerous fire. However the bomb squad are equally important as they try and prevent and disasters that could be caused by a bomb (like a fire) from occurring, the bomb squad try and prevent the issue before it truly begins making them a vital agency involved with a fire/bomb investigation.
